Section Six (6) of IPOA Act states the Functions of the Independent Policing Oversight Authority.
Subsection (j) states: (the Authority shall) subject to the Constitution and the laws related to freedom of information, publish findings of its investigations, monitoring, reviews and audits as it sees fit, including by means of the electronic or printed media;
In line with this provision, the Authority regularly produces and disseminates press releases for mass consumption.
