For four days, the management and selected staff camped in Machakos, with the aim of turning into action, the demand for increased productivity.

Designed to give value for money to the tax payers, it is a first for the Authority and is envisioned to bolster efficiency and effectiveness, while relying only the available resources at any given time.

The four-day retreat, one in a series of other similar engagements culminated into a Strategy, complete with a well thought plan and monitoring mechanism, guided by the expertise of National Productivity and Competitiveness Centre.

C.E.O Mr Elema Halake termed the development as a transformation expected to usher a new era of measuring Productivity in the Authority and noted: “Productivity will only succeed if we get support of everyone (staff). Now that we have a plan I look forward to its application. It can only be good if it is implemented.”

Thus expectation is high that the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA), through the efficient use of public resources, there would be an increased citizen satisfaction, public trust, accountability, cost effectiveness.
